Le Prism is an innovative device crafted for recording studios and live performances, encapsulating the legacy of analog sounds from vintage Italian echo units, including models from Model 1 to PE-603. Developed with insights from Jonathan Wilson, Jon Carin, and Giampaolo Noto, it focuses on meticulous detail to forge the finest Italian echo, marking the brand's 30th anniversary.
The device boasts four delay times plus four selectable feedbacks, both cumulative and tunable to preference. The delay times mirror those of classic vintage units, set at 78, 156, 234, and 312ms, extendable up to 700ms via the Varispeed control, all the while keeping the heads in perfect sync.
The feedbacks correspond to the delay times of the individual heads, enabling a mix of combinations for enhanced psychedelic effects and diverse musical landscapes. Le Prism introduces a retro-inspired stereo concept, featuring a new mono to stereo analog converter circuit that embodies the essence of the 60s and 70s. Although a mono unit, Le Prism not only emulates stereo sound but brings it to life with touch sensitivity and dynamic signal response to connected devices.
Its two output channels undergo a phase shift, creating a realistic stereo effect. The Magic of Age modulation, a staple in the brand's echo effects, replicates the mechanical variances typical in vintage Italian echo units.
A comprehensive data archive, formed by examining various echo units, serves to fine-tune Le Prism with average fluctuation data. The Selector control offers three distinct modes: Echo for single repeats, Rep for multiple repeats, and Swell for four delay times in parallel with four feedbacks.
